Gaisce – The President’s Award is proud to host LikeMinded Allies: A Gaisce PAL Event for Stand Up Awareness week on Wednesday 8th November in LINC, 11a White Street, Cork from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The event will host a panel discussion and interactive workshop with the aim of supporting our PALs in creating a culture of allyship and inclusion of LGBTQ+ Gaisce Participants. Stand Up Awareness Week is a time to show solidarity with young people to ensure that all feel seen, heard and safe. At LikeMinded, Gaisce aims to facilitate great discussions in a positive environment for our PALs to better understand how to support their LGBT+ young people.Â
At the event we hope to support PALs in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all Gaisce Participants and be an ally to your LGBTQ+ young people. Leading the interactive workshop will be Sinead Moloney; a highly experienced Creative Psychotherapist and Group Facilitator for organisations including Insight Matters, Innovative Communities and Global Action Plan. Â
The event will cover several topics including:Â
- Explore how Gaisce PALs proactively include their LGBTQ+ students.Â
- Highlight the importance and power of allyship. Â
- Facilitate sharing of knowledge and best practice. Â
- Facilitate a networking opportunity for Gaisce PALs. Â
- To support engagement of those working in rural settings. Â
We hope to see our fantastic PALs there in support of all the LGBTQ+ young people across Cork.
