We talk a lot about ‘self development’ when it comes to the Gaisce Award, but as you’re doing it, it’s not always so easy to see just how much you’ve grown 🌱since you started your first challenge, on that first week, months and months ago ➡️➡️➡️.

But if you look back, on the skills you’ve taken up or honed 🎸🥾🎭🎨, the contribution you’ve made to your local area or community🚮🪴💡🤝, to the physical challenges 🚲🏃🏾‍♀️⚽️👨‍🦽you’ve overcome or kept at (even when it was hard, or you were exhausted or the weather was crap ⛈ or you had so much else on your plate) ….you’ll see that you persevered and you’ve grown a hell of a lot 📈.

That growth isn’t about being *perfect* at something by the end, it’s about having learned about yourself and what *you* like, what you enjoy, what you’re good at - along the way.

Seeing how you can make a difference when you try your hand at something or you give a helping hand to someone else.

Doing your Gaisce so far hasn’t been about competing with anyone, it hasn’t been about comparing yourself to anyone, it has been about creating yourself, bit by bit, day by day.

No one’s Gaisce is better than anyone else’s - and yet no two Awards are the same.

❤️ if you’ve recently completed a Gaisce Award, take a second to reflect on all you have achieved, and be proud of the person you are *becoming*.

Today we say goodbye to our wonderful administrator Maria Leavy, who has worked with us for 7 years! 💛✨

We're sure that her retirement freedom will give her the time to follow her passions of travel, Man United, iconic knitting and caring for animals.. she was forever feeding foxes and squirrels in Phoenix Park outside our offices! 😄

Her good humour will be missed around Gaisce HQ. Thank you for all hard work over the years and best of luck Maria! 😍

We are delighted to announce that Emily Wolfe, our Events and Community Officer, has won a **Community Partner Award** at @tudublin's Students Learning With Communities Awards! 😄🎉

"Emily worked with 2nd year students on the Higher Certificate in Marketing on their Marketing Planning module project".

This has been a brilliant collaboration for Gaisce and TU Dublin.

The students used Gaisce as their live brief and worked in groups to develop a detailed marketing plan. They conducted surveys and used the data to identify key information that aided their plan. They provided us with general knowledge of Gaisce, misconceptions, common social media habits, target audience and ideas on how to boost engagement and social presence.

Emily visited the class to oversee the development of the plans and offered support by providing advice and further information about our programmes. She took part in the judging panel to decide what marketing plan stood out as the most promising. Emily shared how impressed she was with the quality of work from these students and how we can implement some of their ideas moving forward.

We're super proud - well done Emily Wolfe! 💛
