Students from Trinity Comprehensive Receive Gaisce Awards

\"IMG_6551(1)\"In February, there was a special presentation of Bronze and Silver Awards in Trinity Comprehensive School in Ballymun. Trinity Comprehensive School has a long-standing tradition of participating in the Gaisce – President’s Awards programme. Gaisce participants are mainly drawn from the Leaving Certificate Established programme and they strive to obtain Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

This year, on a pilot basis, Leaving Certificate Applied students will now also vie to achieve Bronze Awards. All students are heavily involved in community work which ranges from Mentoring Programmes, Volunteering with children with special needs, underage coaching, etc. The students display a wide range of personal skills such as playing musical instruments, First Aid and dancing, to name but a few. They are also keen sports people. Every year an adventure trip is organised and in 2014 the participants will cycle the Great Western Greenway. Trinity Comprehensive School is extremely grateful to members of the wider community in Ballymun who offer volunteering opportunities to Gaisce candidates. They are also very appreciative of the support of the Community Gardai. Trinity Comprehensive School are currently celebrating the successful completion of 7 Bronze Awards and 2 Silver Awards and would like to wish all the 2014 candidates the best of luck in completing their award over the course of this year.
