This November, Gaisce – The President’s Award will host Future Generations: A Gaisce Climate Justice Conference in partnership with the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI). The event will take place during One World Week (18-25 November) and Future Generations will take place on Saturday 18th November between 10am – 3pm at the Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7. We hope to see all our amazing Gaisce participants and PALs for an insightful and educational event.
The focus of the conference is around Climate Justice and our climate future, a topic that many of our young people are passionate about and hope to address for a better future. The event will explore how to improve the Gaisce Silver award experience for participants and explore what Gaisce should be doing to give better support. Â Speakers at the event will include Eimear Manning from NYCI; Avril Ryan, CEO of Gaisce; Karol Quinn, Head of Programme and Strategic Development at Gaisce, with special guest speaker, Mohammad Naeem, Irish UN Youth Delegate 2023/24.
The event is open to Gaisce participants who are currently thinking about or currently completing their Silver Award or have completed their Bronze or Silver awards in the past two years. PALs should accompany participants to this event and a parallel session will run on how Gaisce can give PALs better support too.
