The afternoon of #GenerationChange: Embracing New Horizons kicked off with a keynote from Sally Eley, Head of the CIPD Trust, who had an important message:
💛💛“Don’t judge me on the worst day of my life, judge me on who I am now.”
@ainekerr (Gaisce Chair) moderated a panel on exploring how organisations can support people with lived experience and drive meaningful change, joined by Sally Eley, with Caroline Jones (Solas) and Anthony Breen (Irish Red Cross).👏👏
Leon Dunne, All-Ireland Poetry Slam Champion, gave a poetry performance based on the real experiences of those with lived experience of custody. His words hit hard, reminding us why stories matter.🎤
In the final panel, Building Pathways Together, Siobhán Cafferty (Pobal) moderated a conversation with Caron McCaffrey (Irish Prison Service) and Una Doyle (Probation Service)
Thank you to everyone who attended, whether as a professional, advocate, or learner, everyone who attended today is part of a movement for change.👏👏

#GenerationChange: Embracing New Horizons brought together voices to celebrate inclusive employment and the role of the Gaisce Award in supporting young people in custody. 👏👏
@ainekerr (Gaisce Chair) and @seankinsellalivedexperience (Speaker and Mentor) kicked off the event and Avril Ryan (Gaisce CEO) shared some powerful words:
"We’re calling on employers to become fair chance employers to lead with empathy and recognise potential."💛💛
A key moment was the panel discussion on Fair Chance Hiring, moderated by Marion Irwin Gowran (Gaisce) @edelmcsorley and Richard Donovan (Mr Price), Damien Quinn (Spéire Nua), and Ruthanne Barry, fair hiring expert, explored how inclusive hiring can break cycles and build futures.
