While completing their Gaisce Bronze Adventure Journey, the Gaisce Comms team had the pleasure of tagging along with CLAY Youth Project to The Cavan Centre! Despite the rain, spirits were high as we embarked on our journey. From kayaking and hiking through the lush forests to exploring the climbing centre, the wonderful staff and group leaders made sure everyone was having fun, working together, and making memories to last a lifetime. Youth Ambassador Spotlight: Swasti Sahoo
This week, we had the pleasure of chatting with our Gaisce Youth Ambassador, Swasti Sahoo, about all things Gaisce, future plans, and the exciting projects she has been working on! Swasti is a 17-year-old student from Adamstown Community College. Her interest in Gaisce began when our fantastic Development Officer, Ger Brady, visited her school and gave a talk about it. President Catherine Connolly will today present 50 young people with the Gaisce Gold Award at a ceremony in Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA Venues), Royal Hospital Kilmainham. This year’s celebration is especially significant, marking both the 40th anniversary of Gaisce and President Connolly’s first time hosting the prestigious Gaisce Gold Award ceremony. Future Generations: Gaisce Climate Justice Conference

This November, Gaisce – The President’s Award will host Future Generations: A Gaisce Climate Justice Conference in partnership with the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI). The event will take place during One World Week (18-25 November) and Future Generations will take place on Saturday 18th November between 10am – 3pm at the Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7. PAL Spotlight – Frieda Bent | Gaisce Stories Where are you a President’s Award Leader, and what do you do there? KARE is an organisation based in counties, Kildare, West Wicklow and Offaly, that provides service and supports for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Foróige Apache Youth Club – Art Exhibition | Gaisce Stories Our Development Officer Stephen Peers visited the Foróige Apache Youth Club for their Art Exhibition on Saturday 1st April. Their participants have been very busy working on their Gaisce Awards Aaron Hughes, currently completing his Gold Award, made a recipe book as well as growing vegetables and herbs from seed as part of his Silver Award.
