Gaisce seeks Youth Programme Facilitator for LikeMinded

Gaisce – The President’s Award are seeking an enthusiastic facilitator to convene 13 peer led meet ups with young people between February and the end of July 2019. The meet ups will take place on Thursday evenings from 6-8pm bi-monthly in a Dublin city venue as part of our LGBTI+ youth programme ‘LikeMinded’.

The role of the facilitator will be to support the LikeMinded participants aged between 14-17 [up to 16 participants] to undertake the Community Involvement Challenge area of their Gaisce Award. The facilitator will commit to the meeting schedule where participants will decide what the focus of their meetings are and what issues they wish to explore as a group. The facilitator will work with the participants to agree the above but more importantly to create a fun and safe space for the group to bond and develop.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous facilitation experience with youth projects, enjoy working with young people and have an interest in supporting LGBTI+ youth groups.

Candidates will be informed if they have been chosen for interview on February 4th and Interviews will be arranged with shortlisted applicants between 5th – 7th of February 2019.  The part-time facilitator position will commence in early February.

The facilitator will be paid per workshop plus mileage and relevant expenses, if applicable.
