Sanctuary Runners enable Irish residents to run alongside, and in solidarity with, asylum seekers and refugees in Direct Provision thereby fostering friendship, positivity and respect while bringing greater awareness to the migration system. A non-profit, and multi-award-winning movement they use running to build sustainable bridges between communities and to show that we are all equal. Gaisce participants can use participation in Sanctuary Runners towards their Physical Recreation or Community Involvement Challenge Areas. If you would like to get involved, Sanctuary Runners currently run in Dublin (Poppintree and Clondalkin), Cork City, Ballincollig, Mallow, Killarney, Tralee, Kenmare (but no parkrun), Limerick, Galway, Mayo (Ballyhaunis), Sligo, Longford, Athlone, Navan, Wicklow, Waterford City and Tramore.
